Sex and Politics
I teach people how to have better sex. What does that have to do with politics?
Just everything.
Everything you want in this world, you want because you think it will make you feel better. Better sex, better bank account, better relationships, better government, better children, better work, better, better, better. That desire, your desire, for more, for better, is what creates the world. Your world.
No one knows better than you what you want. You get to choose.
So, you want better sex? This is what I teach: slow down, pay attention, tune in, start noticing what feels good, allow yourself pleasure. Put your attention on your intention. Focus on your desire. Look for pleasure and you will find it. Practice feeling good until it becomes your new normal. You can give yourself permission to feel good. Often.
And if you want to live in a kinder, more loving and accepting world? Slow down, pay attention, tune in, notice what feels good. Look for the headlines that paint a picture of the world you want to live in, a world that celebrates your ideals, your beliefs and desires. Focus on the stories that celebrate love, abundance, kindness and caring, the ones that leave you feeling warm and fuzzy. Notice them. Savour them. Share them. Give yourself permission to skip over the ones espousing hate, revenge, lack, the ones that leave you feeling sad or lonely or hopeless.
You get to choose. You can choose to fight against what you don’t love, and spend your energy there. You can give your attention and your power to what doesn’t feel good. You can choose to rage against, to keep your mind and heart focused on what doesn’t feel good.
You get to choose.
You get to choose how you see the world, how you live your life, how you are in the world. You can choose love. You can figure out what you love, and spend your energy there. You can choose to feel good, to look for the things that feel good, to savour and celebrate each delicious moment you can find. In every moment, you get to choose.
Put your attention on your intention. You get to choose.
